HISA 2011 Theme: Affordable information for quality health care – In search of sustainable innovation in Health Information Technology
Effective monitoring and evaluation is recognized in both the public and private health sectors as an important management tool. Monitoring and evaluation however can only be effective if it is facilitated by information systems yielding required data that conform to the definition of quality data. The vast scope of operations in health service provision makes automation an imperative, not an option. In addition, the many priorities competing for the limited health purse make it crucial that innovation in this area is financially viable and sustainable. The question which then follows is; “Why, to date, has pervasive sustainable health information systems evaded the health sector?”
The organizing committee for HISA 2011 invites professionals in the field of health information to submit papers and posters addressing this question for presentation at the HISA 2011 conference. Your paper and/or poster presentation may relate to this question through:
Your paper and/or poster presentation could be about proprietary or open source solutions and should address the above in relation to one of the following areas:
